Qualifications
Must be a Registered Nurse and hold a current License to practice in the District of Columbia, Virginia, and Maryland, Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required, Masters degree preferred.
Must have, as a minimum, three (3) years serving as a clinical trainer preferably in a long-term care organization.
Must have a positive attitude, motivating others, and using influence in a positive manner.
Must have critical listening skills, the ability to assess the skills of the RN’s, LPN’s, CNA’s, GNA’s, etc. and provide supportive feedback in a respectful manner.
Must be able to maintain composure and seeking solutions in stressful situations.
Proficient ability to use a computer and Ingleside’s electronic medical record.
Proficiency with Relias internet based training preferred.
Job Summary:
The Staff Educator reports directly to the Director of Clinical Operations. The Staff Educator develops, implements, and evaluates comprehensive education programs to meet annual clinical compliance, new hire orientation, annual competency requirements, as well as professional development needs of Nursing leadership and staff. The Staff Educator establishes clinical education modules that facilitate in-house learning and career ladder opportunities. In this position the Staff Educator designs, implements and tracks the clinical onboarding for all clinical job groups ensuring consistency of application. An essential deliverable of the Staff Educator is to structure the onboarding of new clinical staff ensuring their learning and development needs meet acceptable clinical standards of practice. The Staff Educator assesses the learning needs of clinical staff and validates completion of all annual clinical competency training through Relias.™ Serves as a role model inspiring, coaching, and mentoring staff. The Staff Educator creates an approved CNA program and subsequent development programs. The Staff Educator creates and implements a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) preceptor program for to maximize the orientation process and the retention of staff. The Staff Educator is also the ambassador with CNA school partnerships ensuring that clinical experiences for students are meaningful and creates the appropriate environment for future new hires.
