Summary
As an Optometric Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our optometrists by providing high-quality patient care and assisting with various clinical procedures. This position is essential to our mission of delivering comprehensive eye care and enhancing the overall patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist optometrists during eye examinations and various procedures.
- Perform preliminary tests, including measuring visual acuity and taking patient histories.
- Educate patients on proper contact lens usage and care.
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems like Epic.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment by adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Monitor and record vital signs as necessary during patient visits.
- Provide excellent customer service to enhance the patient experience.
- Support retail sales of eyewear products, when applicable.
Qualifications
- Experience in patient care settings, preferably within an optometric or ophthalmology practice.
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients and team members.
- Retail sales experience is beneficial but not required.
