Company Description
Ingram Barge Company is seeking qualified Linehaul Pilots that will be responsible for the safe navigation and high performance of our vessels on the Upper Mississippi, Lower Mississippi, Ohio, Tennessee, Cumberland and Illinois Rivers.
Job Description
- Proven leadership abilities
- Safety of the crew, vessel, environment and towing operations through use of Ingram’s safety systems, policies and the “rules of the road”
- Supervision of the Mate and Deckhands in consultation with the Captain and Operations/HR
- Vessel compliance with USCG and environmental laws and regulations
- Assisting with performance evaluations of crew members
- Delegating vessel responsibilities, duties, and tasks considering crew members experience and abilities
- Assisting with safety meetings and drills
- Basic critical thinking and decision making skills
- Assisting with administrative duties
- Strong interpersonal skills with all levels of the organization
- Performing other job duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Hold or be able to obtain a USCG Masters of Towing license
- Hold a FCC Radio Operator license
- Hold a valid MMC
- Hold a Radar Endorsement
- Hold a valid Driver’s License
- Hold or be able to obtain a valid TWIC card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential)
- Be CPR, First Aid, AED Certified or willing to obtain certifications upon hire
- Pass a post-offer process if an offer is made (background check, drug screen, physical)
- Must be able to read and write the English language in order to comply with USCG regulatory requirements
