Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Assistant to join our dynamic legal team. Duties
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and organizing meetings.
- Assist in the preparation and filing of legal documents using document management systems.
- Conduct legal research utilizing tools such as Westlaw to support case preparation and strategy.
- Maintain accurate records of case files and ensure proper documentation for ongoing cases.
- Support case management by tracking deadlines, managing case files, and communicating with clients regarding case status.
- Draft correspondence, pleadings, and other legal documents as required.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow within the office.
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations pertaining to environmental law, family law, and workers' compensation law.
Experience
- Proven experience in a legal administrative role is preferred; familiarity with environmental law or family law is a plus.
- Strong executive administrative support skills with an emphasis on organization and attention to detail.
- Experience with legal case management processes and tools is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in research methodologies relevant to the legal field.
- Familiarity with document management systems to streamline office operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for client interaction and document preparation.
