Electrical Apprentice

Description

An Electrical Apprentice in our commercial division, will work closely with experienced electricians on various commercial job sites. This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about learning the trade and developing hands-on skills in a practical environment. An Apprentice will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems under the guidance of licensed journeyman and master electricians.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist electricians in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems in commercial buildings.
• Learn and practice safe work habits and techniques, following OSHA and company safety protocols.
• Carry and arrange materials and tools for electricians on-site.
• Install wiring, electrical outlets, fixtures, and other system components as directed.
• Contribute to installing and repairing lighting systems, circuit breakers, and electrical panels.
• Assist in testing electrical systems and components to ensure proper operation.
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams under supervision.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including tools and materials.
• Complete required coursework and on-the-job training hours to meet apprenticeship program requirements

Qualifications

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED; completion of a technical school program is a plus.
• Enrollment in, or willingness to enroll in, an approved electrical apprenticeship program.
• Basic knowledge of electrical principles and a desire to learn the trade.
• Familiarity with hand tools and power tools; experience with electrical tools is a plus.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
• Willingness to work on various job sites and adjust to schedule demands.
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Work Environment:

• This role is situated within an outdoor environment and regularly will be conducted in various weather conditions.
• This is a full-time position with working hours scheduled during various hours.

• While executing job responsibilities, the employee will be required to engage regularly in standing, walking, sitting, manual manipulation of objects, tools, or controls, reaching, climbing stairs, and verbal communication.
• The employee will also be expected to have the ability to climb ladders, work from an elevated location, lift, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach, and crawl. Additionally, the employee will need to be able to frequently and repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds.

Travel:

• Daily travel within a limited area is expected for this position
