Description

Job Summary:

To diagnose, repair, and maintain vehicles and equipment, ensuring they are in safe and optimal working

condition. This role will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles and heavy equipment

at various job sites. This involves inspecting, troubleshooting, and performing preventative maintenance, as

well as conducting repairs and replacements as needed. The Mechanic will adhere to safety regulations and

company procedures while maintaining accurate records of all work performed.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on-site.
  • Inspect vehicles and equipment for damage, wear, and potential mechanical issues.
  • Diagnose malfunctions and identify the root cause of mechanical problems.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
  • Repair or replace damaged or worn parts, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize future breakdowns and extend the lifespan of vehicles and equipment.
  • Test repaired vehicles and equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
  • Maintain accurate records of all inspections, repairs, and maintenance performed.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized service vehicle with the necessary tools and parts.
  • May be required to operate specialized equipment or tools.
  • Stay up to date on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or vocational training preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a mechanic, with field service experience a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred).
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy parts and work in varied weather conditions.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to outdoor conditions, including extreme weather and rugged terrain.
  • Work in proximity to high-voltage electrical systems, heavy machinery, and other oil and gas infrastructure.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow strict safety protocols at all times.

  • While executing job responsibilities, the employee will be required to engage regularly in standing, walking, sitting, manual manipulation of objects, tools, or controls, reaching, climbing stairs, and verbal communication.
  • The employee will also be expected to have the ability to climb ladders, work from an elevated location, lift, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, reach, and crawl. Additionally, the employee will need to be able to frequently and repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds.

Travel:

  • Daily travel within a limited area is expected for this position.
