The Technologist, Applications and Custom Solutions is responsible for conducting experiments in our Idea labs to test the performance of our portfolio within Ingredion’s Texture and Healthful Solutions (T&HS) business. This role will aide in the development of custom solutions based on the technical and business needs for Ingredion’s customers. An understanding of technology applied to Dairy and Dairy Alternative applications will be used to support the expanding importance of Ingredion’s products. As a member of the Applications and Custom Solutions team, this role is responsible for collaborating with the Customer Innovation team to ensure that the developed custom solutions meet market needs.

$67,520.00-$90,026.67 Annual

Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).
Incentive Compensation
As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.

Core Responsibilities
- Product Development – Developing food formulations to demonstrate the performance of our portfolio and best meet project or customer requirements.
- Product Development/Knowledge Transfer – Testing the performance of current and new ingredients and communicating these results to the Go-To-Market (GTM) teams to support given opportunities.
- Analytical Testing – Applying routine analytical methods to characterize and analyze the attributes of formulated food products and coordinate more extensive testing for sensory and/or analytical when required.
- Project Management/Communication – Tracking projects and providing regular reports to key stakeholders.
- Organization – Keeping accurate records to support internal clients and external customers.
- Project Management – Keeping appropriate records to support Ingredion’s intellectual property strategy.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration – Collaborating with global cross-functional teams to understand Ingredion’s position in the market and define a shared work plan.
Qualified Candidates Will Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, or a related discipline with 3 years of experience.
- Familiarity with experimental design, statistical analysis, and interpretation of results.
- Knowledge of scaling food formulations from idea to production.
- Proven success multi-tasking and delegating within a fast-paced working environment.
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven success in communicating across functional lines at all levels within an organization.
- English fluency, both written and spoken.
- Ability to travel to other Ingredion facilities up to 10% of the time, as needed.
