Job Summary
Responsible for the processes and project engineering in support of manufacturing plants. Plans and designs manufacturing processes for a chemical production facility.
Essential Job Functions
Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements and equipment layout.
Maximizes efficiency by optimization of layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods and workforce utilization.
Achieves operations objectives by contributing information and recommendation to strategic projects and reviews, prepares and completes action plans.
Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment conferring with equipment vendors.
Evaluates manufacturing processes by conducting research programs, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials, conferring with equipment vendor, soliciting observations from operators.
Directs, implements, and accomplishes all projects objectives by planning and evaluating project activities.
Analyzes assembly, fabrication, machining, and other processes.
Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
Conducts time and cost analysis of processes.
Determines the parts, equipment, tools, and processes needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications.
Maintains and writes process controls programming logic to support manufacturing.
Oversees capital investments and subsequent equipment installation.
Contributes to details and complex aspects of projects.
Supports preventative maintenance program.
Other duties as assigned.
Educational and Skills Requirements
Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering.
8-10 years of direct engineering experience in a manufacturing of specialty chemicals and gases is required.
Must have a background in controls and development.
Ability to work with minimum supervision and deliver by deadlines. Work is independent and collaborative in nature.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, CAD, and other job-related software.
Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies.
