The Senior Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing construction projects from start to finish on the project site. Their primary role is to ensure that projects are completed on schedule, and in accordance with the required quality standards. Below is a list of responsibilities.
Responsibilities for Senior Superintendent
On-Site Management :
- Lead and oversee multiple construction projects from pre-construction through to completion.
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Set and maintain the standard in keeping the job site organized and clean, including meeting standards for waste disposal and environmental protection
Team Leadership :
Supervise and mentor construction staff, subcontractors, and laborers.Foster a culture of collaboration, safety, and integrity among team members.Conduct regular safety meetings and enforce safety protocols on-site.Identify and resolve problems and conflicts, organizing meetings and cooperating with team members in various roles as necessaryClient Interaction :
Communicate with clients, architects, and engineers to clarify project specifications and objectives.Address any issues or changes in a timely manner to minimize project delays.Prepare and present progress reports to stakeholders.Quality Control :
Implement quality control measures to ensure workmanship meets required standards.Conduct regular inspections and audits throughout the construction process.Address any defects or issues promptly to maintain quality assuranceDocumentation and Reporting :
Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily logs, photos, reports, as-builts and correspondence.Ensure all transactions and contracts are documented and comply with company policies.Qualifications for Senior Superintendent
Basic knowledge of software programs, such as Procore, Smartsheet, Primavera P6, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, etc. (or similar Construction programs)Ability to write reports and professional correspondence to vendors, inspectors and clientsGood reading comprehension for technical documents, such as safety regulations, assembly and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsExcellent verbal communications skills, especially when addressing customers, clients or official visitors to the websiteKeen eye to identify non-compliance with regulations or standards and ability to suggest solutions for deficiencies or problemsFamiliarity with the operation of office equipment, such as computers, copiers, and telephonesAbility to stand for several hours at a time and to walk in varying climate conditions and on uneven groundExperience with managing demanding clients and offering creative solutions to meet commitments and requestsAbility to travel in IndianaMulti-family / senior living / wood frame experience is a plusCompensation & Benefits :
