Position Summary
The Server must create
exceptional moments for all guests by providing excellent customer service
throughout their dining experience. The food server sells and serves food and
beverages in an efficient, professional manner according to restaurant
standards.
Duties
and Responsibilities
Serves
guests in a professional manner as per training guidelines.
Applies
knowledge of full menu and other restaurant information such as restaurant
hours, table numbers, and payment options.
Take
food and drink orders from customers and with a positive attitude.
Accurately
enter orders into POS for transmittal to kitchen staff.
Uses
suggestive upselling techniques to offer food specials, menu items, daily
desserts, and other types of promotions.
Ensure
tables are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
Receives
customer payments, completes guest check transactions, and tenders proper
change to customers.
Turns
in all cash and change transactions at the end of each shift.
Cross-serves
and / or assists team members on an as-needed basis.
Completes
all assigned opening / closing side work to prepare dining room, bar, kitchen,
and service stations for efficient operation during meal periods.
Re-stocks
items in dining room and bar as needed and alerts kitchen staff and manager of
stock shortages.
Communicates
health and / or safety concerns / violations immediately to management.
Employees must
always be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers
and fellow employees.
Perform
additional job duties requested by management.

Must be able to work in outdoor elements such
as precipitation and wind with minimal ventilation and small / enclosed space.
Ability to physically and safely handle

and carry same from shelves and otherwise transport up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to exert well-paced ability in
limited space and to reach other locations of the hotel / restaurant on a timely
basis.
Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. on a
regular and continuing basis.
Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch
to fulfill required tasks.
Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting,
walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability
and visual acuity.
Talking and hearing occur continuously in the
process of communicating with guests, supervisors and co-workers.
Vision occurs continuously with the most
common visual functions being those of near and color vision and depth
perception.
Requires manual and finger dexterity to use
and operate all necessary equipment.
Education
Experience
in a high volume, high end restaurant or cocktail bar environment with
experience in hotel Food & Beverage preferred.
Knowledge
of Forbes Travel Service Standards
Thorough knowledge of Wine, Beer, and Spirits
High school or equivalent education required
Licenses or Certificates
Ability to obtain and / or maintain any government required
licenses, certificates or permits must be “SERV Safe Certified” by the State of
Florida.
