This recruitment is being conducted to fill one (1) vacancy and will establish an eligibility list which may be used to fill future vacancies as they occur during the active status of the eligibility list.
Draft, publish, update, review, and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the Materials Management Section; draft, revise and update Agency policies relative to Materials Management operations and administration; review and recommend policy changes/adoption for Agency-wide implementation.
Create, maintain and monitor key performance indicators/metrics to ensure warehouse efficiencies such as inventory turns, on time deliveries, damage reports, etc.
Provides day-to-day leadership to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the Agency's warehousing, supply chain logistics, and inventory control functions. Provide leadership in obtaining information related to materials requirements, movement, and disposition, through close interaction with the Maintenance Planning and Scheduling section.
Participates in the preparation of the section's annual and multi-year operating and capital outlay budget requests; monitors expenditures against goals and objectives; directs budgetary changes to meet changing conditions.
Approves all purchase requisitions up to the amount of $10,000.
Meets with vendors and potential vendors to resolve procurement problems, establish blanket purchasing agreements, service agreements, Just-in-Time services, and to negotiate terms and conditions.
Prepares a variety of special and recurring studies and reports; develops recommendations to improve the purchasing, warehousing, storage, inventory control, issuance and delivery of material and supplies on an Agency-wide basis; ensures staff compliance with work related codes, regulations, guidelines and the Agency's safety program.
OTHER DUTIES
Coordinates and reviews data collection.
Audits/updates the inventory material masters to ensure accuracy.
Works with various departments in the disposal/sale of obsolete inventory.
Provides professional staff assistance to the Deputy Manager of Maintenance and other Departmental Managers, as required.
Performs program administrative functions in a specified area; prepares technical reports, correspondence and other written materials.
May participate on a variety of committees and professional group meetings; stays abreast of new trends and innovations in the fields of Materials Management.
APICS Certification is highly desirable
A valid Class "C" California driver's license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Agency's vehicle insurance program.
