We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Manage patient appointments, including scheduling, confirming, and rescheduling as necessary.
- Assist with patient intake processes, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed accurately.
- Maintain patient records in accordance with HIPAA guidelines and ensure confidentiality at all times.
- Support the medical staff by preparing examination rooms and assisting during patient examinations as needed.
- Handle billing and insurance verification processes to facilitate smooth transactions for services rendered.
- Coordinate communication between patients and healthcare providers, addressing inquiries and providing information as required.
- Ensure the office environment is organized, clean, and conducive to patient care.
- Participate in utilization management activities to optimize patient care delivery within the practice.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a medical office or hospital setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of acute care practices and familiarity with dental clinics is a plus.
- Proficient in practice management software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Understanding of JCAHO standards and commitment to maintaining compliance within the office environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while maintaining professionalism at all times.
