Position Summary: The Bookkeeper is responsible for managing the financial records and transactions of the company, ensuring that all financial data is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with applicable laws. This role includes preparing financial statements, maintaining general ledgers, reconciling accounts, and assisting with budgeting and forecasting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record Financial Transactions: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and balanced.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, payments, and collections, ensuring all accounts are paid and received on time.
- Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly to ensure all transactions match with the company’s financial records.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements.
- Payroll Processing: Assist in payroll processing, ensuring all employee payments, deductions, and benefits are properly calculated and recorded.
- Assist with Audits: Assist internal and external auditors with any necessary documentation and queries during the audit process.
- Data Entry: Ensure timely and accurate data entry into the company’s accounting software and systems.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, etc.) and Microsoft Excel.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Basic knowledge of tax regulations and compliance.
Working Conditions:
- Part-time position, Mon-Thurs.
- Office-based in-person work
- Hours: 20 hrs per week, 9am-2:30pm
- Pay : 24,000 - $26,000
