Job Overview:
We’re looking for a hands-on, customer-focused professional to join our team as a Lighting Showroom Service Technician. This hybrid role combines technical field service with customer coordination, ensuring that our clients receive prompt professional support for any post-sale lighting issues. You’ll represent the company both in the showroom and in customers’ homes, providing solutions with confidence, courtesy, and care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Scheduling & Communication
- Contact customers to schedule and confirm in-home warranty service visits
- Communicate clearly and professionally via phone, email, or in-person
- Provide updates and manage expectations before, during, and after service calls
- Onsite Warranty Service
- Travel to customers’ homes to perform repairs or replacements on lighting fixtures covered under warranty
- Diagnose and resolve basic electrical or mechanical issues with lighting installations
- Ensure all work is documented and follow-ups are scheduled if needed
- Internal Coordination
- Work closely with showroom sales associates and managers to understand customer issues and ensure aligned service solutions
- Support the Returned Goods Authorization (RGA) Manager by processing defective products related to service visits
- Showroom Support
- Assist with the setup, maintenance, and updating of lighting displays and in-store fixtures
- Ensure showroom displays remain functional and visually appealing
Qualifications & Skills:
- Technical Skills:
- General mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools
- Basic knowledge of electricity and lighting components
- Ability to troubleshoot, identify issues, and perform effective, safe repairs
- Communication & Customer Service:
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate technical issues in a customer-friendly way
- Dependable, professional, and calm under pressure
- Other Requirements:
- Basic computer proficiency, including use of Microsoft Office and common workplace software
- Comfortable using ladders and performing physical tasks as needed
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (company vehicle provided)
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing schedules or priorities
