Description

The Performance Marketing Director is responsible for overseeing the execution and optimization of all marketing outputs across inMusic's portfolio of music technology hardware and software brands. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this role ensures that marketing investments and team resources are efficiently allocated to drive commercial growth, audience expansion, and sustained demand generation.

This position leads a multidisciplinary marketing execution team across digital marketing, demand generation, social media, email marketing, communications, and partner marketing.

This role will collaborate closely with the Brand and Insights, Creative, and Commercial Operations teams to ensure all activities are aligned with brand objectives, executed at the highest quality, and optimized for impact. The Performance Marketing Director ensures flawless execution, optimization, and ROI-driven performance across all customer-facing marketing channels.

Key Responsibilities

1. Demand Generation & Digital Marketing Execution

  • Oversee the execution of global demand generation strategies across paid media, CRM, social, and digital channels, ensuring alignment with brand and product marketing objectives.

  • Lead the digital marketing team in managing paid search, paid social, display, programmatic, and retargeting campaigns to maximize ROI and optimize acquisition costs.

  • Ensure consistent brand presence across all performance marketing channels, working in collaboration with the Creative and Brand teams to refine messaging, assets, and targeting.

  • Drive continuous optimization of digital campaigns, implementing data-driven decision-making to improve engagement, conversion rates, and audience growth.

  • Oversee marketing automation and CRM programs, ensuring personalized and effective customer lifecycle marketing that nurtures leads, improves retention, and maximizes lifetime value.


2. Cross-Functional Marketing Execution Leadership

  • Act as the executional lead for all major marketing outputs, ensuring seamless collaboration between teams.

  • Work closely with the Commercial Operations team to manage workflow, set timelines, and ensure on-time execution of campaigns and digital initiatives.

  • Develop efficiency models to right-size team resources, optimize workflows, and ensure execution is globally scalable and cost-effective.

  • Collaborate with Creative and Digital Services teams to ensure all marketing assets, website content, and digital experiences are optimized for performance.

  • Establish best practices in marketing execution, ensuring data-driven decision-making, A/B testing, and process improvements are embedded across all marketing outputs.


3. Audience Expansion & Community Growth

  • Oversee social media and community marketing execution, ensuring alignment with brand strategy while driving organic audience growth and engagement.

  • Lead the CRM/email marketing team in developing high-performing customer engagement programs, optimizing list segmentation, content, and automation.

  • Identify and implement strategies to expand audience reach across digital platforms, leveraging paid media, organic social, and community engagement tactics.

  • Partner with the Brand and Insights team to optimize owned, earned, and paid media strategies, ensuring execution supports long-term audience development goals.


4. Partner Marketing & Communications Execution

  • Oversee partner marketing execution, ensuring seamless collaboration with channel partners, resellers, and key accounts to drive co-branded marketing initiatives.

  • Manage the execution of PR, media outreach, and brand communications, ensuring strong press visibility and consistent external messaging.

  • Implement performance tracking frameworks for earned media, PR, and partner marketing initiatives, optimizing strategies based on measurable impact.


5. Resource and Performance Optimization

  • Optimize marketing investments by ensuring team resources and budgets are allocated toward the highest-impact marketing outputs.

  • Continuously refine marketing execution processes, leveraging automation, data insights, and workflow efficiencies to maximize output quality and speed.

  • Establish clear marketing performance KPIs across all outputs, working with the Insights and Analytics team to track effectiveness and improve decision-making.

  • Develop best-in-class execution frameworks, ensuring marketing campaigns are launched with precision, consistency, and data-driven refinements.



Skills, Knowledge and Expertise


  • Commercially-driven marketer with deep expertise in performance marketing execution, digital media, CRM, and demand generation.

  • Highly analytical and optimization-focused, capable of leveraging data insights to refine and improve marketing outputs.

  • Operationally strong leader, with experience in building scalable, efficient, and high-performing marketing execution models.

  • Detail-oriented project manager, capable of overseeing multiple simultaneous marketing outputs while maintaining quality and performance.

  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with experience managing large, multidisciplinary marketing execution teams.

  • Agile and adaptable, capable of optimizing marketing execution based on real-time performance data and evolving market conditions.

  • 8 years of experience in performance marketing, demand generation, or digital marketing execution roles, preferably within music technology, consumer electronics, or software industries.

  • 5 years of leadership experience, managing teams across digital, paid media, CRM, social, and partner marketing.

  • Deep expertise in digital marketing tools and platforms, including Google Ads, Meta Ads, DSPs, CRM/marketing automation, and analytics.

  • Proven experience in scaling global marketing execution teams and optimizing marketing operations for efficiency and impact.

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
