SEEKING : FRONT DESK MANAGER to oversee hotel and restaurant reservations . (1) Full Time employee to work 3PM-11PM 5x a week. Applicant must have a have a friendly and warm disposition, and charismatically make all guests feel welcome.
Employer: The Inn at Taughannock Falls, is a luxury boutique hotel with 26 rooms, 150 seat restaurant with lake view dining of Cayuga Lake, near Ithaca NY and Cornell University. Our new Event Center named, “Enchantment", is seasonal event space operating 26 weeks a year in season. This stunning space will be able to hold 300 guests for seated dinner and up to 500 guests for cocktail reception style events. This venue is the only one of its kind in the region, featuring a 100’ x 60’ sailcloth tent, customizable lighting package, multiple fire features including a two-story dry stack, stone fireplace, and an outdoor plating kitchen. The owners plan to build a new hotel, with 4 times the occupancy capability of the current establishment. Enormous growth opportunities and promotions exist in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Answering phone calls and emails quickly and efficiently with a professional manner in order to maximize hotel and restaurant reservations.
- Responding to guest queries and helping troubleshoot any and all problems presented to you.
- Using multiple software systems as well as Microsoft Office and Google Suite as an expert as well as POS systems.
- Cash handling and selling items from the bar or gift certificates.
- Providing concierge services to guests as needed such as booking dinner reservations on their behalf or recommending local eateries and activities.
- Remaining aware of the surroundings and keeping the public areas orderly and presentable.
- Support the Director of Hotel Operations in managing and guiding employees across the Front Desk, Housekeeping and Continental departments.
- Act as a deputy of the Director of Hotel Operations in the case of his/her absence.
