Position: Banquet Chef
The Inn at Taughannock Falls, a luxury boutique hotel, that operates a 140-
seat casual lakeview restaurant and an epic event venue located in
Trumansburg, NY is seeking an experienced Banquet Chef to collaborate
alongside the Executive Chef and Event Planners to prepare world class
cuisine at the 90 weddings and other events we host at our restaurant and
dedicated event space.
Banquet Chef candidates must have experience to prepare and serve up to
450 meals at one sitting. All meals must be plated in a way that conveys a
fine dining experience.
Our ideal candidate shares our passion for delivering the highest quality
creative food to our guests. Looking for someone reliable and
accomplished to maintain our 5 -star status, nominated by “The Knot” and
“The Wedding Wire” as “Best of Weddings” in central New York.
Banquet Chefs must attend all BEO meetings weekly to review the
upcoming events for the week in great detail. When events are not
scheduled, any available extra time the Banquet chef has in their work
week will be spent rendering additional services assisting the Executive
Chef in the restaurant’s dinner service.
The Inn at Taughannock Falls season commences in April and operates
until just after Thanksgiving. We also run a very successful wedding event
business, in our Enchantment Garden from mid-May to mid-October, under
a 6000 sq. ft tent and dedicated prep kitchen that serves up to 300 seated
guests and up to 500 guests served buffet set up. Last year we hosted
close to 95 weddings/events varying in size, in the Enchantment Garden
and inside private dining rooms in the restaurant.
This 13-acre estate is surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of Cayuga
Lake and the Taughannock Falls State Park, which boasts the tallest
waterfall, East of the Rocky Mountains, just steps away from the hotel. Inn
at Taughannock Falls has been in operation for over 75 years and benefits
from high traffic tourism thanks to Cornell University and Ithaca College
which are located just 9 miles away in Ithaca NY as well as some 200
wineries throughout the Finger lakes wine region.
Our Kitchen is expansive and well-equipped. It continues to grow
throughout every year. The culinary aspect of this business has exciting
future and many opportunities are on the immediate horizon as we plan to
build an expansive hotel and enlarge our event business.

Salary: $1,750.00 plus is available per week – Based on a
candidate’s experience level, salary may increase commensurate

Employment Period: Position operates April through November with some
part-time opportunity possible in March or December.
