Supervises: Child Care Assistant Manager, Supervisor, Administrative Assistant, Janitor/Cook and Child Care Attendants
Summary Of Position
Responsible for the planning, implementation and supervision of the childcare program, including management of team members, finance and facilities; program development and public relations.
Key Responsibilities And Performance/Behaviors
While performing the duties of this position, the team member is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear. Must be able to use hand held communications devices. The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The team member must be able to stand for several hours.
The noise level in the work environment is loud. The team member will be exposed to a second-hand smoke-filled environment. The team member may be exposed to biohazardous fluids such as blood and other body fluids. The team member may be exposed to hostile environments with guest. May be subject to high stress environments.

- Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and are subject to change at management’s discretion:
- Directs and conducts the activities of the resort’s child care program in accordance with established resort procedures;
- Recommends changes to improve the child care program and reviews ongoing activities;
- Ensures the safety and health of all children in the program;
- Ensure the staff and facility remain in compliance with required regulations and IMGR&C policies and procedures;
- Select, train, evaluate and develop qualified staff to support child care operations;
- Establish and maintain positive relationships and appropriate on-going communication with staff, participate with parents;
- Monitor revenue and expense, and implement corrective measures to ensure effective and efficient administration of child care operations;
- Adheres to all regulatory, departmental, and resort policies and procedures;
- Performs other duties as assigned;
- Supervisory Responsibilities
- Education and/or Experience Requirements
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Care Development or related filed; or Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Care Development or related field and three years’ experience working in a licensed Child Care facility or related area;
- One year in management experience in a licensed Child Care facility or related area;
- Familiar with the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures;
- Effective verbal and written communication skills;
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills;
- Ability to effectively respond to stressful and changing situations in a varied environment;
- Must be flexible working with children of all age groups;
- Mescalero Apache Tribal Preference; Bicultural experience preferred;
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening;
- Must pass a pre-employment criminal background investigation;
- Must have proven record of dependability;
