(Full-Time, Exempt Position)
Inner City Law Center (ICLC) is a nonprofit law firm located in the Skid Row neighborhood of Los Angeles. We are looking for extraordinary people to help us end homelessness in Los Angeles. Founded on the fundamental principle that every person should always be treated with dignity and respect, ICLC fights for justice for low-income tenants, working-poor families, people who are disabled or experiencing homelessness, people living with HIV/AIDS, and homeless veterans.
Position Description: ICLC seeks a Data Manager to join our Program Operations team. The Program Operations team is responsible for ICLC's grants management and deliverable tracking, and the Data Manager will be a crucial member of that team. This role will be responsible for supporting the team’s core function of deliverable tracking and reporting. Reporting to the Director of Program Operations, the Data Manager will be responsible for the organization’s client and case data and all related reporting and analysis. They will lead efforts to ensure proper management and understanding of ICLC data which are key to effective grant management and compliance, as well as supporting and informing initiatives for strategic and sustainable growth.
Responsibilities:
- Manage ICLC’s case management system, LegalServer, as the organization’s sole client and case data collection tool. Oversee system improvements and maintenance and collaborate regularly with staff on team-specific enhancements.
- Develop continuing education resources on LegalServer that facilitate better data collection practices and user understanding. Develop user and administrator manuals and conduct new and continued training for staff.
- Liaise with partner organizations regarding database management procedures for grants reporting and inter-agency referrals and reporting.
- Conduct ICLC data analysis and offer data-informed insights via data analytics to inform opportunities for new and existing programs. Actively participates in initiative discussions and planning through data insights.
- Leads data collection and data integrity improvements, including collaboration with Strategic Initiatives on program process improvements necessary for compliance and client-centered services. Projects may include: timekeeping, demographic data collection questions, other case-related data and intake processes, closing and impact fields etc.
- Develop data visualization to support proper deliverable tracking and progress updates. Research, develop, and monitor the implementation of a more sophisticated Deliverable Dashboard. Support the Program Operations Coordinator to implement regular improvements to the Dashboard for ease of use and better data presentation.
- In-depth knowledge of all team’s required grant reporting, to ensure accuracy and consistency with reporting requirements. Where necessary, working closely with program teams to recommend and facilitate reporting improvements.
- Oversight of ICLC’s internal and external reporting. Responsible for preparation and submission of program-wide reports, as well as supporting teams with their report preparation, as needed. Establishes database of all data reporting, including assignment, content, guides, and deadlines.
- Conduct regular audits of report data for quality and integrity purposes; works closely with program team members tasked with grant reporting to address accuracy. Collaborate with team leadership and team report staff to audit program-wide report practices and submissions for large city and county wide initiatives: Preventing and Ending Homelessness Project and Stay Housed LA.
- Support ICLC’s program evaluation efforts and effective dissemination of findings, conclusions, recommendations, and lessons learned to increase program efficiency and improve future program design and scaling. Perform other duties as assigned.

A minimum of 5 years in program data management or reporting; some experience in program administration, direct legal services, or nonprofit programs. Excellent data analytic skills and advanced proficiency in Excel. Experience with a legal case management system (or comparable system) and reporting. Familiarity with LegalServer. Highly organized and detail-oriented. Ability to manage projects through completion. A self-starter who is innovative and solutions oriented. Familiarity with addressing service needs (e.g., legal services, social services, family/children support etc.) of individuals or families from vulnerable populations. Knowledge of different legal service delivery models or comparable client-facing services. Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels. Must have access to reliable transportation.
Compensation: Salary compensation from $68,640 - $80,000 per year and is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Excellent benefits.
