Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to fill the position of Male Youth Residential Facilities Program Manager. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing all group home operations and creating a supportive environment for male youth residents and staff. This position requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to the well-being of young individuals, and the ability to collaborate effectively with a dedicated team. The duties of Program Manager require ensuring the safety of residents by managing staff, implementing programs, sustaining compliance with procedures, and coordinating with families and external agencies, all while prioritizing the individual needs of each resident within the facility.
Responsibilities:
Residential Oversight:
- Oversee and coordinate daily activities within the male youth residential facility.
- Ensure a safe, secure, and nurturing environment for residents.
- Implement and enforce house rules and regulations for staff and residents.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to the supervisor and group home staff.
Staff Management:
- Lead and motivate a team of residential staff.
- Conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Performing annual staff performance reviews.
Youth Support and Development:
- Provide emotional support and guidance to male youth residents.
- Develop and implement programs to promote personal, social and emotional development of the youth in the facility.
- Collaborate with counselors and support staff to address residents' individual needs.
- Establishing a rapport with families of residents with intent to coordinate sufficient care.
Crisis Intervention:
- Respond promptly to any emergencies or crisis within the facility at any time when necessary.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies and de-escalation techniques.
- Problem solving and conflict resolution.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with case managers, social workers, and other professionals to ensure holistic care for residents.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with external agencies, community partners, and families.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and current records of resident progress reports, medication logs, travel logs and incident reports.
- Prepare regular reports for management and relevant stakeholders.
- Adherent to the standards of HIPAA and COMAR.
- Report directly to Program Director and Program Administrator.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in residential care or youth services is highly desirable.
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Driver’s license required.
- High school diploma required.
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field preferred.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Skilled in working independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Capable of decision making and conflict resolution.
- Understanding of trauma-informed care and best practices in youth services.
Working Conditions:
- This position involves working in a residential facility environment.
- Overseeing daily operations of two group homes.
- Flexible work hours, including evenings and weekends and on-call when needed.
- Administer and document daily medications to the residents if necessary.
- Delegating tasks and instruction to supervisor and youth care workers.
