We are thrilled to introduce the ServicePoint Academy —a groundbreaking training initiative designed to expand our team, drive organizational growth, and enhance success for our clients. As part of this paid program, participants will gain hands-on experience, achieve industry-standard certifications, and develop role-specific professional skills through a comprehensive, customized curriculum.
This is a 6-9 month paid training program, beginning early 2025, that allows qualified participants to “Learn While You Earn” as they prepare for an exciting career in low-voltage technology and IT infrastructure.
Upon completion, graduates will be equipped with cutting-edge skills to immediately step into the role of an Infrastructure Technician, servicing expansive client environments. ServicePoint Academy plans to hire and train 400 Technicians throughout 2025, creating impactful opportunities for career growth and community development.

- Ethernet, Low-Voltage, or Fiber Cabling: Including splicing, termination, and routing techniques.
- Hardware Installation: Best practices for installing and testing components such as access points, switches, and servers.
- Industry Standards and Safety Protocols: Emphasizing precision, compliance, and quality assurance.
Responsibilities:
- Learn and Apply Technical Skills:
- Install, test, and troubleshoot structured cabling (Cat 5e, Cat 6, Cat 6a, or fiber optic).
- Terminate and test cabling systems using various connectors and diagnostic tools.
- Assist with IT hardware installation, including network devices and server setups.
- Support Field Operations:
- Partner with senior technicians on active projects to learn best practices.
- Participate in hands-on installations, maintenance, and repairs.
- Engage in Professional Development:
- Complete structured coursework and gain industry certifications.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies and advancements in the field.

Physical and Technical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting while working on computers and troubleshooting issues.
- Frequent use of monitors and other screen-based devices.
- Precise handling of tools and small components, such as cables, connectors, and hardware parts.
- Ability to lift and carry equipment, such as computers, monitors, and peripherals, weighing up to 25-50 pounds.
- Standing and walking to different locations for on-site support.
- Occasional reaching, bending, and crouching to access equipment in tight or low spaces.
- Ability to read small text and distinguish color-coded wires, indicators, or displays.
- Comfortable being in small spaces in ceilings, under desks, or within server racks when required.
- Comfortable working on lifts or scaffolding at heights up to 20 to 40 feet or more, depending on the project requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Personal Attributes:
- Eagerness to learn, adapt, and contribute to a dynamic environment.
- Having the ability to clearly communicate with clients and resolve issues in person or over the phone
- Primarily fieldwork at customer sites, with varying environments.
- Overtime availability, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Ability to travel regionally / nationally as required (travel expenses are covered!)
