INNOCEAN USA, a full-service ad agency located in sunny Huntington Beach, CA, is seeking a freelance QA Analyst to join our Web Ops team!
This is a remote, freelance position. January through August 2025.
We prefer candidates local to SoCal but may consider those in the following states only: CA, CO, GA, IL, NY, TX
The Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst is responsible for reporting on the overall quality of the web, mobile and software applications developed and delivered for Hyundai Motor America.
The QA Analyst focuses on creating and executing web test plans to verify that the product features and functionality meet the business requirements. As an ideal candidate of the WebOps team, the Analyst will also exhibit excellent communication skills as they will be in constant contact with digital producers, proofing, web publishers and the digital account team keeping them aware of status of all QA tasks.
DAILY DUTIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Communicate effectively with team and clients.
- Desktop and mobile testing
- Manual testing when not automated
- Participate in project sprint planning and retrospectives.
- Documenting, analyzing and interpreting tests for web and mobile based software.
- Assist with creation of test procedures and documentation.
- Report and track bugs using a bug tracking system.
- Work on multiple projects at the same time in a fast-paced development environment
- Exploratory testing
- Defect reporting
- Maintaining regression test suite
- Browser compatibility testing
- Analytics tags testing/audit
- Validate broken links and invalid or missing content, e.g. images, videos
- Checking for missing page titles and metadata
- Proofreading
- Checking to see if applications are functioning correctly, e.g. online forms
- Checking calculations of shopping tool components
- Checking that legal and regulatory guidelines are being adhered.
- Checking that the W3C standard is maintained.
- Producing test cases/test plans/scenarios (when needed)
- Evaluation of requirements for accuracy and completeness
- Integration testing (microsites, app)
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- 2 years as a QA Analyst
- Expert in using Mac OS X and Windows operating systems iOS and Android Devices
- Experience using an Application Lifecycle Management system (JIRA, Bugzilla, TFS, Redmine, or other) for work item/defect tracking, (JIRA) preferred.
- Basic understanding of CMS
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Use of browser emulators and browser developer tools
- Basic knowledge with Agile and Waterfall methods
DESIRED SKILLS:
- Experience writing scripts in Python or other scripting languages.
- Experience testing an enterprise level system (web)

The salary range for this role is $73,000 - $75,000. Pay is dependent upon several factors including but not limited to: client, experience, training and/or transferable skills.
