Role: VMware Tanzu Engineer Location: New York, NY Duration: 12Months
Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, design, and deployment of Tanzu platform for Kubernetes and Cloud Foundry.
- Installing and configuring Tanzu software, including Tanzu Application Catalog, Tanzu Kubernetes Grid, Tanzu Mission Control, Tanzu for Kubernetes Operations, Tanzu Application Platform, Tanzu Data Solutions, Tanzu CloudHealth, Tanzu AI Solutions.
- Customizing Tanzu software to meet the specific needs of the organization, such as integrating with existing infrastructure or customizing deployment pipelines
- Deploying and managing containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes, and ensuring that the applications are running smoothly and meeting performance requirements
- Developing and implementing automation scripts and processes to improve deployment efficiency and reduce manual work
- Troubleshooting and resolving issues with the Tanzu platform and containerized applications, and working closely with development teams and other stakeholders to resolve issues
- Work with customers to define business and technical requirements for Tanzu platform solutions.
- Design and implement multi-site architectures, workload mobility, and disaster recovery strategies.
- Lead technical discussions, workshops, and knowledge transfer sessions for clients and internal teams.
- Develop and deliver technical documentation, design documents, and best practices for Tanzu deployments.
- Mentor junior technical consultants and provide guidance on troubleshooting and optimization.
- Participate in pre-sales engagements, helping scope and position Tanzu solutions for clients.
- Ensure adherence to industry standards, security policies, and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field
- 15 years of experience in IT
- Minimum of 10 years of technical experience with VMware and supporting technologies.
- 5 years of hands-on experience with Tanzu, Kubernetes, and containerized application deployment and development.
- Required one or more of the following certifications
- VMware Certified Professional - Cloud Management and Automation
- Tanzu Certification (Preferred: Tanzu Application Platform or Tanzu Kubernetes Grid)
- One or more of the following certifications
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
- Certified Kubernetes Developer (CKD)
- Docker Certified Associate (DCA)
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) Certified Solutions Architect
- Google Cloud Platform Architect
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Exper
- VMware Cloud Foundation Administrator Certification
- VMware Certified Specialist - Cloud Foundation
- VMware Cloud Foundation Architect Certification
- Extensive architecture, design, and deployment expertise with VMware Tanzu Platform, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), including vSphere, NSX, vSAN, and Aria Suite, Kubernetes, Containers, Infrastructure as a Code solution such as Terraform, Ansible, Helm, etc.
- Hands-on experience with VMware Tanzu, Kubernetes, Docker, UNIX/Linux, Containers, Terraform, etc.
