Your Future Role
- Electrical Development Engineer responsible for the design and development of new AC induction motors for the North American and worldwide market
- Candidates to have both Mechanical and Electrical Engineering design knowledge of the product with a strong focus on Electrical Engineering
- The position will report to the Product Development & Innovation Manager within the Innomotics High Voltage Motor business
- You will work in an international R&D team
- This position can be remote with occasional travel to the office as needed
- Crafts electrical designs for new product families
- Serves as electrical consultant for Development and Product Engineering and provides high level technical support to the supporting manufacturing groups as required
- Provides close collaboration with Motor HQ in Germany to build product that meets global requirements
- Answers requests on technical details and coordinates solutions of issues
- Provides technical support and Engineering consultation for customer service cases as required
- Continuously enhances or improves existing Engineering standards, tools, processes, or methods to streamline and modernize Engineering function
Required Knowledge/Skills, Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
- 2 years successful Engineering experience in Product Engineering or R&D
- Business trips both domestic and international
- Knowledge of Induction motor theory and design
- Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical colleagues
- Willingness to work in an international team
- Technical experience in electric motor manufacturing or large rotating equipment
- Knowledge of large electrical motor design and troubleshooting
- Programming skills e.g. Python, …
- Knowledge of VFD applications, insulation design, power systems, control design, air flow and heat transfer
