Innophos is recruiting for a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler at our Nashville, TN manufacturing location. The maintenance planning/scheduling function is the hub from which all planned maintenance activity is coordinated. The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler is responsible for scheduling preventive and regular maintenance with minimal interruption to production operations. In this capacity, the Maintenance Planner/Scheduler is the principal contact and liaison person between Maintenance and Production and other supporting departments in relation to determining the timing for execution of planned maintenance work. The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler works to ensure that Production units balance their need for daily output with their need of equipment reliability through proactive maintenance practices.
The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler duties and responsibilities are carried out with considerable independence within the framework of established policies and procedures. The role involves accountability to goals and decision-making responsibilities. The Planner/ Scheduler utilizes the Computerized Maintenance Management system (CMMS) to support the other staff in maintenance and production with planned and scheduled asset care.
The position requires an individual with strong organizational, analytical, technical and leadership skills; problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills, independent judgement skills, inter-personal and people management skills. The Maintenance Planner / Scheduler must possess the ability and skills to effectively provide direction, lead and work in a diverse team environment and communicate in non-technical terms to non-technical individuals.
The key challenges and responsibilities of the position:
· Plan schedule and coordinate PM activities to production requirements.
· Provide maintenance support for production and engineering activities to ensure optimum results.
· Investigate maintenance-related problems, analyze root causes and drive resolutions.
· Assure compliance of proper safety, quality and environmental requirements in work.
The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.
\n- High School Diploma or GED. Advanced degree/certification(s) in technical and/or maintenance related discipline preferred.
- At least five (5) years of industrial experience in a chemical plant or other related industry experience.
- Experience working in a union environment a plus.
- At least three (3) years maintenance and supervisory experience.
- Three (3) years maintenance planner / scheduler experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of chemical plant equipment (pumps, piping, heat exchangers, vessels, instrumentation, etc.).
- Background in maintenance and repair of equipment to effectively plan daily maintenance department activities.
- Experience working and managing in a PSM site. PHA and MOC experience strongly preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of chemical of chemical manufacturing systems and processes.
- Must have strong and experienced project management skills,
- Experience with MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Operating materials) Inventory Management.
- Strong “troubleshooting / diagnostic” skills.
- Experience working in both batch and continuous operations.
- Knowledge of Federal / State EPA and OSHA compliance standards.
- Six Sigma knowledge and training a plus.
- Must have experience using Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), preferably JD Edwards/ E1.
- Must be able to identify and prioritize multiple projects and perform work with a constant awareness of improving processes.
- Demonstrated capability to analyze and troubleshoot operational and equipment problems and provide reasonable and accurate recommendations and solutions.
- Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing to individuals; ability to present complex situations in a concise manner.
- Must interact effectively with technical and professional contacts, as well as hourly workforce.
- Must have excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal relationship skills.
- Must have strong project management skills.
- Computer skills are a must with knowledge of CMMS, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to build partnerships across and between functional groups and lead a project.
- Proven experience and effectiveness successfully managing a union hourly workforce is required.
- Proven experience utilizing work management process to plan and schedule maintenance work.
- Must be able to wear personal protective equipment.
- Must be able to respond to visual and audible alarms and paging.
- Must be able to work around hazardous chemicals and exposure to dust.
- Ability to regularly work in and be exposed to outside weather elements (i.e. rain, snow, cold, heat).
- Must be able to work day, afternoon and evening shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as scheduled and as needed.
- Must be able to regularly work around and atop industrial equipment, including frequent ascending and descending of stairs and ladders, move about the plant and office, bending, kneeling, crouch or squat, twist, stooping and remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
- Must be able to ascend to and position self to work at high elevations when necessary and required.
- Must be able to frequently move objects weighing up to 10 lbs. routinely and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to follow Good Manufacturing Practices including the proper wearing of clean protective clothing, following personal hygiene standards, and adherence to food/drink/tobacco restrictions.
