What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Lab Intern - Summer 2025 position at Innophos?
The Quality Control Lab Intern will gain practical experience in quality assurance and quality control lab procedures while supporting essential projects aimed at enhancing lab efficiency, data accuracy, and standardization at the Innophos manufacturing site in North Salt Lake, UT.
\n- Assist with daily operations
- Support sample receiving, prepare materials, clean glassware, calibrate equipment, conduct tests, and report data
- Assist in organizing and managing laboratory databases, retrieving data for analysis, and document archiving
- Contribute to Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Assist in various quality improvement projects aimed at enhancing lab operations and processes (i.e., Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP) Upgrading)
- Support data collection and analysis to identify opportunities for process verification and efficiency improvements
- Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of quality systems, including adherence to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and the 5S methodology in the lab
- Provide assistance for any additional quality initiatives or projects assigned by quality management
- Cross-Functional Support
- Assist and collaborate with the Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) teams as needed to support overall quality objectives and operational efficiency
- Completion of sophomore college year in Food Sciences, Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or related field
- Fluent in English (verbal and written)
- Proficient in MS Office, specializing in Excel for data analysis, Word for documentation, and PowerPoint for presentations
- Strong attention to detail
- Effective teamwork and collaboration
- Adaptability to changing priorities and multitasking
- Clear and effective communication
- Ability to follow Good Manufacturing Practices including the proper wearing of clean protective clothing, following personal hygiene standards, and adherence to food/drink/tobacco restrictions
- Intern: 8-12 weeks
