About the Role - Reporting to the VP, Accounting, the Director, Tax is responsible for the company’s tax compliance, tax planning, and accounting for income taxes and will work with the accounting team and third-party accounting firms of public and non-public, domestic and international, corporate and partnership tax entities.
Responsibilities
- Direct all tax compliance, including managing the preparation and filing of federal, state, sales & use, municipality, and international income tax returns, including all related analysis and support.
- Be a strategic business partner, researching, analyzing, advising, and supporting the finance team and domestic and international project teams in tax-related issues.
- Maintain relationships with third-party service providers and tax advisors, advising upon key decisions with respect to professional services required.
- Collaborate with third-party advisors to ensure the review of the tax provision for SEC reporting purposes, including the implications of any transactions or business combination accounting.
- Collaborate with third-party advisors to ensure the business complies with any other tax provision agreements for private entities.
- Identify and resolve GAAP technical tax accounting matters as they arise.
- Conduct research as necessary to advise management of the tax implications resulting from projected organizational actions.
- Respond to federal, state, and local tax notices and manage federal, state, and local tax audits and examinations.
- Advise on the proper structure of legal entities and intercompany activity.
- Develop and implement an expanding tax team
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Experience: A minimum of 8 years of accounting or finance experience (preferably a combination of public and industry) and 5 years in US and international tax and US Tax Reform matters, including ASC 740, is required. Experience with an Up-C structure, tax receivable agreements, and the consequences of DeSPAC transactions will be highly desired. Other required or preferred experience includes:
- Demonstrated experience managing and/or developing a tax team (required)
- Publicly traded company experience, including SOX compliance (preferred)
Pay range and compensation package - compensation $166k-$199k plus benefits
