What are the responsibilities and job description for the Per-Diem School Nurse position at Innovation Academy Charter School?
Innovation Academy Charter School seeks a part time nurse. Situated in Tyngsboro, MA (near the intersection of routes 3 and 495), IACS draws a diverse student body from neighboring districts, including Lowell, Dracut, and Chelmsford, as well as Tyngsboro. Our community represents 19 languages spoken, 38% students of color, 25% of students on special education plans, and a community of students and staff that identify as LGBTQ.
The per diem nurse helps support a comprehensive school health program caring for the health of IACS students. This position works under the supervision of our head nurse, provides nursing services for students, and communicates with their families. This position will be as needed. The School Nurse oversees the emotional, mental, physical and social health of students. They will provide students with basic health services throughout the school day. School nurses will also manage students who have chronic health conditions and students with disabilities. This includes giving them medication as needed.
