Forklift Operator/Material Handler

The forklift operator will be responsible for moving various types of materials and products throughout the factory. The forklift operator will utilize the equipment in a safe fashion while receiving materials, stacking materials and moving finished products.

Responsibilities:

· The employee will safely operate the forklift for all movements throughout the factory.

· The employee will complete a daily maintenance checklist before lift operation.

· The employee physically and systematically receives purchased materials.

· The employee must systematically move materials to and from locations with accuracy.

· The employee must understand the proper location and storage procedures.

· The employee will operate manufacturing machine systems for automated storage of material.

· Employee must be self-motivated while working to achieve team objectives.

Requirements:

· Employee must have a minimum of 2 years forklift operating experience in the last 5 years.

· Must be able to utilize a tape measure in American standard increments and metric increments

· Employee must be able to understand directions and procedures in the English language.

· Employee must be comfortable using computers, tablets and Windows based applications.

· Employee must have good general math skills.

· Good understanding of inventory procedures and system material transactions a plus.

· The employee must be able to work at the required pace to meet production requirements.

· Must be detail oriented.

· Self-motivated and team-friendly to accomplish goals and improve facets of the business.

· Understanding and application of safe work practices

· Must be able to lift 50 lbs., bend, sit, and stand as required to accomplish tasks.

· Team lifting to palletize products and materials as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
