Job Overview :

We are currently seeking a Level 3 Construction Manager to join our team and work onsite for one of our key utility clients across Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire. The selected candidate will be employed by our firm while providing dedicated services to the client.

The Construction Manager (Level 3) will oversee and coordinate utility construction projects involving electric, gas, and water infrastructure. As a key representative of our firm, the Construction Manager will manage field activities, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with project goals, safety standards, and quality requirements. This is an onsite role that could involve managing multiple project sites across the region, or supervising a singular, large project.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Project Execution : Lead and supervise construction activities on utility projects to ensure adherence to specifications, schedules, and budgets.
  • Site Coordination : Collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, and field teams to maintain smooth operations at various project sites.
  • Quality Assurance : Oversee inspections and ensure all work meets technical and regulatory standards.
  • Budget and Cost Control : Work with project teams to track expenses, manage change orders, and ensure cost-effective project delivery.
  • Safety Management : Implement and enforce safety programs in compliance with OSHA standards and client-specific requirements.
  • Client Interface : Act as the main point of contact between our firm and the utility client, providing regular updates on project progress, issues, and solutions.
  • Documentation : Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily logs, status reports, and as-built records.
  • Permitting and Compliance : Ensure projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including environmental and permitting requirements.

Required Qualifications :

  • Experience : 8–10 years of construction management experience, preferably in utility infrastructure projects (electric, gas, or water).
  • Education : Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Certifications : OSHA 30 certification is required; additional safety certifications (e.g., First Aid, CPR) are a plus.
  • Technical Expertise : Knowledge of construction techniques, materials, equipment, and utility regulations.
  • Software Proficiency : Experience with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Procore, ClickUp, Deltek) and digital site management solutions.
  • Communication : Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with client representatives, subcontractors, and field personnel.
  • Travel : Ability to travel to job sites throughout Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire as required.
  • Preferred Skills :

  • Familiarity with public utility and energy sector projects.
  • Experience with FERC, NERC, or state regulatory processes.
  • Understanding of permitting requirements.
  • Leadership experience managing diverse construction teams and subcontractors.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and navigate job sites safely.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds when necessary.
  • Salary Range :

  • Base Salary : $110,000 - $145,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Additional Compensation : Potential performance bonuses, travel reimbursement or per diem, and other benefits.
