Job DescriptionThe Assistant Mechanical/Plumbing Mechanical Estimator is responsible for supporting the estimation team in preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for mechanical and plumbing projects. This role involves analyzing project plans, specifications, and other documentation to determine the scope of work and the necessary materials, labor, and equipment costs.Essential Job Functions
- Analyze Project Plans: Review blueprints, specifications, and other project documents to understand the scope of work.
- Prepare Cost Estimates: Assist in creating detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.
- Collaborate with Team: Work closely team members to gather necessary information.
- Utilize Estimating Software: Use specialized software to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Evaluate Materials and Equipment: Assess and select suitable materials and equipment for projects.
- Submit Bid Proposals: Help prepare and submit bid proposals for mechanical and plumbing projects.
- Conduct Risk Assessments: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor Project Budgets: Track and manage project budgets and expenditures.
- Communicate with Suppliers: Obtain pricing information from suppliers and contractors.
- Support Project Implementation: Provide support during project implementation to ensure estimated costs are adhered to.
Experience and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
- Experience: No prior experience required; internships or co-op experience in mechanical estimation or construction is a plus.
- Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC and plumbing.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders.
- Software Proficiency: Familiarity with basic estimating software and tools; willingness to learn and adapt to new software.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
