- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Customer Service, Internal Laboratory and external suppliers to ensure regulatory and product quality compliance.
- Provide support regarding labeling, claims, and product specifications to ensure compliance with FDA regulations.
- Ensure and review raw material documentation (Product Specifications, Nutritional Information, Allergen Statements, Non-GMO, Kosher, etc.) are accurate and up to date.
- Provide guidance on FDA regulatory compliance, including labeling and product claims.
- Supervise and manage the Quality Technical and Finished Good Release team to ensure all products meet FDA, Good Manufacturing Practices, and internal quality standards.
- Stay current with industry regulations and standards, implementing any necessary changes or improvements to remain compliant.
- Work closely with the R&D Team to ensure the company’s products meet labeling, claims, and product formulation requirements for FDA compliance.
- Oversee and manage the company's certification programs, including SQF, NSF GMP, GMP for Sport, Organic, Gluten-Free, Kosher, Halal, and Vegan certifications.
- Oversee the creation and revision of Master Manufacturing Records (MMRs) for both new and existing products to ensure they meet company and regulatory standards.
- Monitor and ensure that all raw material, packaging components, and finished products are tested per internal specifications.
- Oversee the Quality Control testing process, ensuring that raw materials, premixes, and finished goods meet acceptable specifications before release.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support for Quality, Manufacturing, Production, and Laboratory teams on quality-related issues.
- Collaborate with R&D and Manufacturing teams to support new product development and formulations changes, ensuring that products meet both technical specifications and regulatory standards.
- Oversee and manage the Vendor and Supplier Qualification Program.
- Oversee the process for resolving supplier quality issues and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring any non-conformance issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
- Review and approved documentation related to finished product specifications, raw material, packaging components, and premix test results.
- Oversee and Support Quality Technical Specialist responsibilities outlined below:
- Create and review finished product release specifications.
- Create and review Raw material specifications.
- Create and review Packaging component specifications.
- Create and issue inbound sampling paperwork for Raw Material and Packaging component sampling and testing.
- Create and issue Retest Paperwork for Raw Material Extension.
- Review Raw Material, Premixes, Packaging component test results.
- Review and approve Mixing Instructions.
- Review and approve new batch sizes.
- Manage the release of raw materials, premixes, and packaging components.
- Approve incoming finished product labels and ensure they meet regulatory standards and customer specifications.
- Manage the deviation documentation process, ensuring timely approvals and corrective actions.
- Assist in the review and audit of supplier qualifications and certifications to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support the review and resolution of consumer complaints.
- Support the NSF for Sport Sample Shipment process.
- Review approved and revised controlled documents, including SOPS, Batch records, Forms.

Knowledge/Skills
- Thorough knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices for Foods and Dietary Supplements 21 CFR Parts 117 and 111 and new FSMA regulations
- HACCP certified
- FSMA PCQI certified
- Knowledge of FDA regulations, labeling, product claims, and the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA)
- Knowledge of Good Laboratory Practices and basic laboratory equipment
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and computer skills
- Detail oriented with excellent follow up skills
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Position requires interfacing with several departments
- Position requires flexibility, careful attention to details, and ability to multi-task
- 5 years of related experience in Quality Assurance, Product Development, or Technical Services (i.e. regulatory affairs, labeling, product specification, Kosher, etc.) within the Food Manufacturing and/or Dietary Supplements industry
- Experience related to ingredient documentation, finished product specifications, nutritional facts/supplement facts, product development, and FDA compliance regulations (21 CFR 101, 111, etc.) and DSHEA preferred
- Familiarity with food law, regulations, and claims
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint)

Salary : $80,000 - $85,000
