What are the responsibilities and job description for the Floating Program Manager position at Innovative Care Services?
The Float Program Manager plays an integral part in ensuring the day-to-day operations of a Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) or an Adult Family Home (AFH) program in the absence of the Program Manager. The Float Program Manager will be required to assume the Program Manager role of a given program on an interim basis for a variety of reasons including vacancy, extended leaves, expansion, etc.
Shifts Available: Full-time Floating Program Manager positions available, primarily 1st shift with night, weekend, and on call responsibilities. Typically, Monday- Friday business hours with nights and weekends as needed.
Ability to work any shift needed at the program including nights, weekends, and overnights when serving as Interim Program Manager or Interim Float DSP. This is a perfect role for an experienced caregiver. Traveling to different programs is required.

Job Duties:
The Float Program Manager will be responsible for all duties of a Program Manager and Float DSP and will be assigned either role pending operational needs. In addition to these responsibilities the Float Program Manager will serve as a project manager for the Administrator supporting quality evaluations, initiative implementation, and growth and improvement opportunities.
This position must be available on a 24-hour basis, via phone or in person as needed, to respond to emergency situations and staff coverage issues when serving as Interim Program Manager.
Personal care tasks, such as bathing and toileting, are a part of a Floating Program Manager’s everyday role. You’ll also contribute to grocery shopping, meal preparation, and handle cleaning and laundry duties.
Administering prescribed medications and maintaining accurate documentation are crucial aspects of your responsibilities as a Floating Program Manager.
This position has 3 key areas of focus. The time spent in each focus area will vary on an annual basis pending organizational needs; however, an estimated breakdown is below.
- 60% Interim Program Manager Role – serving as the Program Manager at an assigned program.
- 30% Interim Float DSP Role – serving as a float staff throughout the NE Region
- 10% Project Work – supporting the Licensed Administrator in process improvement, quality reviews, program training, etc.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with people with disabilities.
- Minimum 1 year supervisory/management experience or 5 years' experience working with people with disabilities.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record
- State Car Insurance Required
