Lab Technician Job Description:

Innovative Community Health Institute LLC (ICHI) is growing and we have an immediate job opening for a lab technician/phlebotomist. This professional will collaborate with the registration and medical team, as well as interacting directly with patients. She/he shall have both the ability and a strong desire to provide excellent patient services.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Skilled and qualified to complete high complexity testing under 42 CFR 493.1489
• Strong knowledge of State and Federal regulations as it pertains to laboratory; and
• Experience in Phlebotomy

MEDICAL LAB TECHNICIAN QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience:

• Associate degree in Medical Technology preferred; and
• Previous Medical Technology (MLT) experience preferred.

MEDICAL LAB TECHNICIAN ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collects blood samples for analysis to assist medical team in making accurate diagnosis and management of diseases.
• Maintains instruments and laboratory space in a clean and orderly manner.
• Records results of all tests.
• Completes Quality Control and Proficiency Surveys.
• Maintains laboratory records in a professional manner.
• Communicates precisely with colleagues and patients.
• Maintains a high working knowledge of basic laboratory instruments, which allows him/her to apply that in their daily tasks in accordance with CLIA guidelines.
• Demonstrates knowledge of established testing procedures, as it pertains to clinical chemistry, urinalysis hemostasis, immunoassay, arterial blood gases, microbiology, immunology, transfusion services, phlebotomy, and other laboratory procedures.
• Promotes and always ensures patient and employee safety.
• Conducts chemical analysis of body fluids; and
• Performs other duties, as assigned.
