Drafter

  Job Title – Drafter
• Full time: typical hours 8:00am-5pm; Monday-Friday
• Salary/Wage: $25-29 pr hour DOE
• Reports to: Mechanical Engineering Lead

Summary:

• Industry leading, 40 year old Buffalo Area Manufacturing Company seeks candidate to work in the research and development department. This person will create detail drawings for mechanical parts and assemblies within our arcade games. This person will assign the type of material used and the part numbers to be used. Select and detail hardware in the models, make design changes with guidance from engineering. Document changes in change log file. Assist with prototype assembly and document assembly steps with “exploded views”. May be asked to work independently on small projects.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• SolidWorks experience needed (Fusion 360, Inventor experience acceptable)
• Minimum 2 years experience using SolidWorks or Fusion 360, Inventor, etc.
• Creates detailed 3D models and supporting drawings and documentation, including Bill of Materials
• E.R.P. software experience a plus
• Good mechanical aptitude and knowledge
• Familiar with basic hardware, hand tools, and measuring instruments

• Possess technical and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to exercise tact, courtesy, and ethics when dealing with vendors, co-workers, and customers.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Must have flexibility with ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Travel – limited travel annually
• Preferred Educational and Experience:
• Associate degree or related field required

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of walking, standing and sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Working in a manufacturing setting with machinery and equipment.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
