What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Engineer position at Innovative Construction Solutions?
ICS is looking to find a driven, smart, and team-player-minded individual with 2-5 years of experience with a heavy civil self-performing GC, with water / wastewater projects experience, for a Project Engineer role in Irvine. Job description and requirements are listed below :
Project Engineer
- Engineering or Construction Management degree required.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in construction projects of similar size and scope ($20 million water / wastewater projects).
- Experience in industrial / municipal projects (over $10 million) required. Experience in commercial-type construction will not be considered.
- OSHA 10 certification.
- Proficient in using the following software packages : Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Microsoft Project.
- Proficient in performing the following tasks :
- Field productivity and cost tracking, including comparison to budget.
- Field layout for upcoming work (support Foremen and Project Superintendent)
- QA / QC of work performed by field crews.
- Development of work packages, including sequence of work, materials and equipment needed, associated budgets, etc.
- Purchase materials / tools needed to perform the work.
- Assist Project Superintendent with office-related tasks.
- Subcontractors’ management and scheduling.
- Assist PM with project schedule updates.
- Assist PM with project cost reporting.
- Develop project submittals (product data, quality control plans, field procedures, shop drawings, etc.) in accordance with project plans and specifications.
- Experience with the following software is preferred, but not required : Procore, Primavera P6, Viewpoint Vista.
Exempt position (salary / no overtime). This person will be required to work 50 hours per week
