Successful candidate should be able to operate and maintain stationary engines and mechanical equipment, compressors, generators and steam boilers, to provide for utilities, such as light, heat and power for refrigeration, air conditioning and other services. This position requires detailed knowledge of and the ability to operate and maintain the facility's major mechanical systems, i.e. heating, cooling, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, communication, and fire protection but focuses on Steam Boiler Activities.Essential Duties and Responsibilities : The primary responsibilities of the position will include but not limited to : Operate and maintain Stationary EnginesOperate, diagnosis, and maintain Air compressorsWork and aid in maintaining optimum make up water composition jointly with a water treatment service providerGenerate monthly inspection for underground fuel oil storage tanks and maintain Boiler house Maintenance logs, operational logs, and fuel oil measurement logsFully understand HVAC operations and how the Boiler systems integrate and supports operationsAssess and maintain Condensate returns to reincorporate the recycled make up waterDiagnose the quality of steam make-upFacilitate annual and semiannual Pressure Vessel Inspections with a certified inspectorMeticulously document water treatment and conditioning activities and interpret and record equipment readings and metricsPossess a thorough understanding of plumbing and repairs as it pertains to Boiler operational carePossess analytical skills necessary to recognize, diagnose, and, within limits, repair equipment and system malfunctions.Receive instructions for existing site personnel and learn specific boiler manufactured equipmentUnderstand verbal and written instructions and to give readily understood information in both verbal and written formsDemonstrate equipment mastery within a 90-day period.Requirements : Ability to pass an extensive background checkHigh School diplomaTechnical training from an accredited school or apprenticeship program for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, Boiler or other construction trades is preferred. This may be waived by one year of previous commercial boiler plant experience and / or healthcare maintenance operationsPossess and maintain a valid State driver's licenseBoiler / Power Plant Operating Engineer First Class Operators Licenses in the State of Illinois.Pay Rate : $34.83 / hourExpected Work Hours - 20 hours per weekBenefits :
