What You Will Do
As a Registered Dietitian you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate age-appropriate nutritional care for patients with bleeding disorders.
The Opportunity
- Assess patient nutritional needs at comprehensive care clinics and Outreach Clinics. Collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary team to establish age-appropriate recommendations for the patient's plan of care.
- Collaborate with patients and families to establish nutritional goals and action plans. Provide ongoing monitoring of patient progress and education to support nutritional goals.
- Provide weight management education and coaching. Connect patients and families with weight management resources.
- Perform Cardiovascular Risk Assessment on pediatric patients, including height, weight, BMI, blood pressure, lipid panel, secondhand smoke exposure, Hemoglobin A1c, and blood glucose levels. Send letters summarizing finding to patient's primary care provider and the patient and provide follow-up care as needed.
- Meet and follow up with patients referred to the Registered Dietitian by the physician, advanced practice provider (APP), nursing, or multidisciplinary team member. Conduct follow-ups through in person clinic visits, telehealth appointments, or phone calls to address nutritional concerns and provide tailored recommendations
- Minimum: Bachelor's degree from an accredited dietetics program.
- Minimum 3-5 years of related experience
- Valid Dietitian license in the state of Indiana
- Registered Dietitian in accordance with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
- Valid driver's license and insured automobile required
- All IHI employees are expected to enable multi-factor authentication via their personal smart phone/smart device in order to access IHI systems as a requirement of the role.
