We are growing! As such, we are seeking a competent maintenance professional to join our machine tool maintenance TEAM. Whether you are fresh out of school or experienced and looking for a new job, a Technician Helper position at IMS may be a great fit for you. You will be trained and certified by qualified IMS personnel in both safety and technology. Some technology skills include deductive reasoning, analytical thinking, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of electrical, electronics, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC, and motion control system theory and application.

A Technician Helper assists experienced technicians with various tasks, including preparing work areas, gathering tools and materials, and performing basic maintenance and repairs under supervision.
General Responsibilities
Assisting Technicians: The primary role is to support technicians with their work, which could involve tasks like:
- Setting up and organizing work areas.
- Gathering and delivering tools, equipment, and materials.
- Cleaning up work areas and equipment.
- Assisting with basic repairs and maintenance tasks under supervision.
- Reading and interpreting technical diagrams and manuals.
Learning and Development: Technician Helpers often have opportunities to gain hands-on experience and learn new skills under the guidance of experienced technicians.
Following Safety Procedures: Adhering to safety protocols and maintaining a safe work environment is crucial.

Basic Technical Skills: Some familiarity with tools, equipment, and basic maintenance procedures is often helpful.
Physical Stamina: Some positions may require lifting heavy objects or working in various conditions.
Communication Skills: The ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with technicians is important.

Qualifications
- High school diploma; vocational or technical certification preferred

- The ability to work well independently and in a TEAM environment with minimal supervision

- Reading, writing, and comprehension of the English language
- Complies with company and client safety and PPE requirements, as directed, varying by job-site location and task to be performed
- Safely uses a variety of handheld tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Regular and predictable attendance
- Use of personal vehicle to travel to job assignment may be required at times
- Valid driver's license, clean DMV record, and auto insurance
- Must be a US citizen and able to pass a background check
