Title: Fusion Technician
Location: Houston/Odessa, TX
Duration: Contract to Hire
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Levels
LEVEL 1 Straight line fusion of 8” diameter or less on above grade installations
LEVEL 2 Straight line fusion of up to 18” diameter and basic fitting on above grade installations
LEVEL 3 All fittings and fabrications, all diameters, in ditch work, electro-fusions and extrusion welding Must read isometrics. Able to troubleshoot minor equipment issues
Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED
Minimum 2 years previous experience operating 1 ton trucks with up to 48ft gooseneck trailers
Knowledge of polyethylene pipe and fusion equipment is a plus
Prior experience operating commercial vehicles and a clean driving record
Work Environment
Outdoor exposed to changing weather conditions (for instance, rain, sun, snow, wind, etc.); Outdoor and indoor shop environment with adequate ventilation; Wet or humid conditions (nonweather); Work near moving mechanical parts; Fumes or airborne particles; Air contamination (i.e., dust, fume, smoke, toxic conditions, disagreeable odors).
Loud (examples: earth moving equipment)
Normal operating hours and days; Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
40 hours/week required according to the needs of the department.
Occasional short- and long-term travel
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
