Title: Linux Admin
Location: Olathe, KS 66061
Duration: Contract
- Minimum of 8 years of work experience as Linux Administrator in complex systems design, implementing and supporting systems software and infrastructure in a medium to large enterprise
- Experience with installing and configuring a wide range of software including server, operating systems, office production software, proprietary software, utilities, and other application specific software.
- Detailed understanding of fundamental network protocols such as routing, TCP/IP, DNS, SNMP, SSL/TLS, Firewalls, and HTTP
- Solid understanding of LVM, filesystem types, and partitioning
- Extensive understanding of Client Servers (Dell, Client, Lenovo/IBM, or SuperMicro) including remote access, troubleshooting, booting, firmware, and configuration
- Understanding of security best practices such as CIS, SELinux, Firewalls, PAM, etc
- Extensive experience with OS patching and patching tools (RPM, YUM, repos)
- Experience with both Windows and Linux
- Experience with backup, restore and recovery models.
- Knowledge of high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) options.
- Experience working with and administering Active Directory.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with VMWare and virtualization technology.
- Experience with Data Storage (SAN/DAS).
- Experience with performance tuning and optimization (PTO) using native monitoring and other tools.
- Flexibility to work outside normal business hours to minimize impact on users.
- Able to prioritize activities while supporting multiple projects.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
