Primary Location: SEC Headquarters, Washington, DC (with potential for remote work)

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cyberwatch Analyst to support the SEC CyberWatch function, which focuses on the cybersecurity and technology reporting, monitoring, and analysis of financial firms regulated by the SEC. This role will involve working in a fast-paced, dynamaic environment, handling critical cybersecurity events, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity and technology regulations for the regulated entities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Continuously monitor the status of covered entities to identify potential violations of securities reporting regulations related to cyber and technology events (e.g., system security issues, disruptions, and compliance failures).
• Receive, process, and track cyber and technology events reported by regulated entities to ensure compliance with cybersecurity protocols.
• Conduct detailed analysis of cyber and technology event reports submitted by regulated entities to assess risk, potential impact, and regulatory compliance.
• Implement cybersecurity event escalation procedures in accordance with the SEC’s External Market Cybersecurity Incident Protocols to ensure swift and effective response to critical events.
• Provide program-level reports on the status of regulated entities' compliance with cybersecurity and technology regulations, highlighting areas for improvement or corrective action.
• Foster strong compliance and risk management practices, ensuring that regulated entities adhere to cybersecurity and technology reporting guidelines.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Knowledge of cybersecurity protocols and event monitoring.
• Familiarity with financial regulations and their intersection with cybersecurity and technology in the securities industry.
• Ability to analyze complex cybersecurity events and provide clear, actionable insights.
• Experience with incident response and escalation procedures in a high-stakes environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, including government staff, financial entities, and external organizations.
• Proactive, responsive, and customer-centric demeanor, especially in a fast-paced environment.
