Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and driven Cyber Systems Engineer to join our team in Orlando, FL. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in computer science, engineering, or a related field and have at least five years of relevant work experience. This position involves working with cutting-edge technologies to design, implement, and troubleshoot complex systems, while ensuring high availability and security across environments.
Responsibilities:
• Support medium to large system deployments, including planning, designing, and evaluating software options, selecting operating systems, and configuring protocol suites and media.
• Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and ensure system availability, reliability, and proper capacity planning.
• Collaborate with site users to deploy and integrate solutions, assist during initial integration stages, and document changes for future reference.
• Design, implement, and troubleshoot system networking elements, including routing, switching, and special communication methods such as VPN.
• Address interoperability problems to ensure smooth operation across various platforms.
• Configure internal systems and customer tools in mixed environments and provide system maintenance, including service packs, patches, and security configurations.
• Assist in selecting and implementing security tools, policies, and procedures. Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure proper handling of system infrastructure changes.
• Work closely with senior management and customers to develop technical presentations and support problem resolution in fielded environments.
• Work within classified and unclassified environments to accomplish government objectives, ensuring full compliance with security requirements.
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Ability to obtain and hold a Top Secret (TS) security clearance.
• Strong technical knowledge with the ability to apply it effectively across various tasks.
• Experience in executing technology assignments and working independently or collaboratively.
• Proficiency in systems administration and/or information technology concepts.
• Excellent communication skills, including technical writing for manuals, technical reports, and procedures.
• Work is to be performed within both classified and unclassified environments.
• Must be able to handle and resolve complex system issues while collaborating with other personnel in fielded environments.
Desired Requirements:
• Experience with configuring and installing network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPN.
• Experience with VMware virtualization tools (vSphere) and their interoperability with networks.
• Experience in system maintenance, upgrades, and security configurations.
• Knowledge of logical isolation of virtual environments for testing.
• Familiarity with configuring/administering NetApp storage networks.
• Military experience or background as a DoD contractor is a plus.
• Leadership experience, including task estimation and tracking.
• Experience in systems integration testing.
• Familiarity with DoD-standard endpoint tools for OCO and DCO efforts (e.g., Kali Linux, Security Onion).
• General understanding of operating systems principles.
• CCNA or similar networking certification.
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) and/or Microsoft Certified Solutions certification (or similar) are highly desired.
