Job Description:
As an Industrial Coatings Application Specialist, you will be responsible for applying various coatings (primarily single-stage wet spray) to metallic and other surfaces according to specifications. Your expertise in surface preparation, coating selection, and application techniques will ensure the durability, appearance, and functionality of the coatings in diverse industrial settings.
Responsibilities:
- Perform surface preparation tasks such as sandblasting, cleaning, and priming to ensure optimal adhesion of coatings.
- Select appropriate coatings based on surface type, environmental conditions, and project requirements.
- Apply coatings using various methods including spraying, brushing, and rolling, while adhering to industry standards and safety regulations.
- Monitor drying and curing processes to achieve desired finish and durability.
- Conduct quality inspections to verify adherence to specifications and standards.
- Maintain equipment, tools, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient project execution and timely completion.
- Provide technical expertise and recommendations to clients regarding coating solutions and application processes.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, advancements, and best practices in coating technologies and application techniques.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety protocols at all times.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an industrial painter or coatings applicator in a similar role.
- Proficiency in surface preparation techniques such as media blasting, cleaning, and priming.
- Strong knowledge of various coating types, including epoxy, polyurethane, and specialty coatings.
- Familiarity with application methods including spraying, brushing, and rolling.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and instructions.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality standards.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Commitment to safety practices and regulations.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various environmental conditions.
- Relevant certifications or training in industrial painting and coatings application (preferred).
