Nucor Data Systems is hiring an Assembler. The assembler will be responsible for putting together fabricated products and parts of products according to specifications. This role requires the use of hands and power tools along with instrumentation to assemble products, verify quality, and ensure that production goals are met. The position requires good hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, focus, and the ability to stand for long periods of time.

Nucor Data Systems is hiring an Assembler. The assembler will be responsible for putting together fabricated products and parts of products according to specifications. This role requires the use of hands and power tools along with instrumentation to assemble products, verify quality, and ensure that production goals are met. The position requires good hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, focus, and the ability to stand for long periods of time.
Basic Job Functions:
- Assembling components and ensuring that all parts are fitted correctly
- Control and adjust equipment settings to complete simple tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely manner
- Assemble fabricated parts, components, or other units
- Align materials and assemble parts to build units
- Use hand and power tools to cut, drill, grind, and fasten materials
- Use simple measurement instruments such as tape measures and scales to verify correct product build specifications
- Maintain a clean and organized work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
- General housekeeping duties (sweeping, empty trash, etc.)
- Support other departments when work is slow in assembly
- Report unsafe working conditions
- Performs related duties as assigned by supervision
Safety is an important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead and uphold safety practices, policies, procedures and housekeeping standards to make safety a priority at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Basic math skills
- Read and understand blue prints
- Use hand and /or power tools
- Basic reading and writing skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working for a manufacturing company
- High school diploma and or equivalent and /or related experience
- Ability to read and use a tape measure to precise measurements
- Knowledge of 5S, Lean Manufacturing
- Bilingual English/Spanish, preferred
