As a CMM Programmer/Mechanical Parts Inspector at Innovative Precision, you will program, set up, and operate Coordinate Measurement Machines and utilize an array of inspection tooling to perform diversified inspection operations on work having close tolerance and finish specifications. You will take the initiative to ensure work is done accurately and completely. Perform complex assignments and apply existing work methods to different known situations. Solve problems involving recurring, routine situations and may refer more complex problems to supervisor or more senior level personnel within organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Create CMM programs from customer technical drawings and models to verify machining results.
· Utilize various inspection tools to verify part compliance to technical drawings.
· Interpret technical drawings to develop inspection approaches that ensure part compliance
· Collaborate with machinist team members to verify first article and production compliance to technical drawings.
· Visually inspect parts for workmanship
· Maintains equipment and an organized clean area by performing tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and wiping down equipment
· Set-up/utilize special inspection equipment.
· Support all company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
· Complies with industry regulatory requirements, company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
· Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
· Performs other related duties and responsibilities, on occasion, as assigned.
· Overtime is occasionally required in this position.
Experience and Education Requirements:
· High School diploma or equivalent.
· 5 years of experience in a mechanical inspection role
· 2 years programming Coordinate Measurement Machines
· Demonstrated ability to read complex blueprints as well as the ability to use, operate and apply a range of precision inspection instruments and devices, e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gages, etc.
· Demonstrated knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
· Demonstrated verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, and basic math skills.
· Pre-employment drug test is required.
· Background check is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Certification in CNC Machining Technology, equivalent trade school/military training, or comparable related experience in CNC machining is desired.
· 10 years of experience programming Coordinate Measurement Machines
· Highly proficient in PCDMIS inspection software, Calypso experience is a plus.
· Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
· Multitasks, prioritizes, and meets deadlines in a timely manner.
· Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
· Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
