Patient Relations Specialist
Responsibilities
The Innovative Radiology Patient Relations Specialist is a frontline ambassador for the imaging center and is responsible for:
- graciously assisting patients and referring physicians with scheduling imaging appointments, procedures, examinations, and treatments
- cultivating a friendly and engaging rapport with patients and physician offices
- greeting patients and visitors as they arrive at the imaging center
- promptly answering and responding to phone calls, emails, and faxes
- accurately entering patient profile information into the electronic medical record system
- verifying all necessary details and documentation are recorded before the scheduled appointment
- obtaining insurance authorization and billing information and accurately inputting the information into the electronic medical record system
- ensuring that all pertinent preparedness information is shared with the patient to prior to their upcoming appointment
- compiling all necessary documentation for the daily schedule of appointments including insurance cards, consent forms, and referral paperwork
- problem solving and professionally addressing questions as they arise
- protecting the privacy and security of patient information
- assuming additional responsibilities and tasks as needed to optimally assist the organization and its patients
Qualifications
· This position requires a high school diploma.
· Previous experience in customer relations or a related administrative role is required.
· Prior experience in a medical environment is highly preferred.
· Basic Life Support certification is needed.
