Innovative Reasoning, LLC is recruiting for a High-Risk Training Safety Advisor, applying subject matter expertise and excellent writing and briefing skills in support of high risk training safety policy reviews, evaluation of high risk training curricula, development and update of high risk training checklists, and management of the high risk training course instructor qualification and certification process in support of II Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF), Expeditionary Operations Training Group (EOTG).
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Develop, implement, and manage high-risk training programs
- Ensure the safety and effectiveness of military personnel, including:
- Managing High-Risk training policies,
- Conducting risk assessments,
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies,
- Developing training curricula with staff and faculty, and
- Evaluating the effectiveness of training programs.
- Work closely with Branch OICs, Operations, and Academics to ensure compliance with safety regulations and policies.
- Provide high risk training experience and analytical skills to enhance the planning, management, and execution of a comprehensive high risk training program focused on ensuring the highest standards of safety and Service compliance across the courses offered by II MEF EOTG.
- Provide guidance, support, and comprehensive assessments of high-risk training evolutions to identify potential risks, identify areas for improvement, and develop effective mitigation strategies in support of II MEF EOTG.
- Ensure the safety and effectiveness of military personnel, including:

- Attend training safety-related seminars, summits, and conferences as attendees or presenters when requested.

Education/Qualifications and Certifications:
- REQUIRED
- HS Diploma or GED.
- Successful completion of a recognized high-risk training certification program (or equivalent), with ongoing training and professional development to maintain certification and currency.
- Physical and psychological suitability for high-risk training safety advisor duties, as determined by a medical professional and/or a standardized assessment.
- PREFERRED
- Bachelors degree.
- Experience working in safety-related billet involving high-risk training on a MEU or regimental-level staff.
Experience:
- REQUIRED
- Greater than Ten (10 ) years of experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating high-risk training programs for the Department of Defense, including instructor certification, and safety management.
- Conducting risk assessments, developing mitigation strategies, and implementing safety protocols in a high-risk training environments.
- Knowledge of high-risk training principles, practices, and methodologies, including risk assessment, mitigation strategies, and safety protocols.
- Experience in providing guidance, oversight, and support for high-risk training evolutions, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, policies, and procedures, and identifying areas for improvement.
- Possess excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with effectively with Staff, instructors, and other stakeholders
- Assist and manage multi-stakeholder forums and capture key outputs for senior leaders.
- Knowledge of common commercial computer applications (Outlook, Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, etc.) and peripheral equipment to produce a variety of documents, charts, graphs and briefing materials and devices/equipment (tablets, smartphones, etc.) to present and execute training.
- PREFERRED
- Honorably discharged (DD-214 with the characterization of service and MOS), prior Staff Non-Commissioned (SNCO) E-7 or greater in the U.S. Armed Forces.
- Served in leadership billet required to plan, coordinate, and execute High Risk Training and Operations including, but not limited to:
- Combatant diving,
- Static line parachuting,
- Military free fall,
- Small boat operations,
- Visit Board Search and Seizure,
- Close Quarters Combat/Tactics, or Breaching, and
- Helicopter Rope and Suspension Techniques,
- Rope Suspension Employment.
Location: Position is at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune, Stone Bay, NC.
Work Environment:
- The contractor will work in a mixed civilian/military environment providing amphibious raid training to deploying units.
- Work conditions can vary from a busy office environment to fieldwork, both subject to frequent interruptions. Additional specific details related to working conditions may be outlined in the Performance Work Statement or Client Contract.
- May occasionally be required to work non-routine office hours, travel to other locations, or work extended hours in support of training events or exercise.
Physical Demands:
- Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday. Requires constant use of hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. Additional specific details related to physical requirements may be outlined in the Performance Work Statement or Client Contract.
- Be physically capable of performing all tasks specified in the Performance Work Statement or perspective area of expertise or prescribed in the EOTG Period of Instruction.
Work Schedule: Full time.
License and Other Requirements:
- Hold a valid US Driver’s License, with ability to operate private, commercial and Government owned motor vehicles.
- Possess a current Basic First Aid and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation certification.
- Must be able to obtain a contractor's common access card, which will stand as identification for instructors and will enable them to access government owned computer equipment and Non-secure Internet Protocol.

Security Clearance:
- REQUIRED
- Currently possess an active U.S. Secret level security clearance and can obtain a Secure Internet Protocol (SIPR) access token with access to government SIPR computers.
- PREFERRED
- Currently possess an active U.S. Top Secret / SCI level security clearance.
Travel: Approx. 6 weeks (cumulative) per year for non-consecutive periods of 1-week, or less; off base training in CONUS locations; conduct periodic off base site surveys; attend various sustainment training when available.
