The Production Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining production schedules that ensure timely delivery of products while optimizing manufacturing efficiency. This role focuses on coordinating material availability, production capacity, and workflow to meet customer demand. The Production Planner will play a key role in establishing processes and metrics for production planning.
Key Duties:
Develop, monitor, and adjust production schedules to meet customer demands and minimize lead times.
Monitor labor, equipment, and material capacity to ensure production feasibility and efficiency.
Collaborate with procurement to ensure materials are available for scheduled production runs.
Contribute to inventory level management to prevent overstocking or stockouts of critical materials.
Work closely with manufacturing, procurement, quality, and sales teams to align production plans with business goals.
Participate in weekly production meetings to provide updates on scheduling progress and address potential issues proactively.
Support the evaluation of vendor lead times and delivery reliability to improve material planning processes.
Provide insights for production forecasting based on historical data and upcoming order trends.
Maintain accurate records of production schedules, material requirements, and inventory levels.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, business administration or equivalent professional experience
Minimum of 3 years in production planning, scheduling, or a related role within a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, etc.).
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
Preferences:
Experience in process improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
Knowledge of industrial refrigeration systems or similar technical industries.
