Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dump Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting materials to and from construction sites, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the dump truck. This role requires a strong understanding of vehicle mechanics, as well as experience in operating various types of heavy machinery. The Dump Truck Driver will play a crucial role in supporting our construction projects and maintaining site productivity.
Responsibilities
- Operate dump trucks to transport materials such as soil, gravel, and asphalt to and from job sites.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Collaborate with site supervisors to understand delivery schedules and material requirements.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, materials transported, and any incidents that occur during transport.
- Assist with loading and unloading materials as needed, utilizing other equipment such as bulldozers, loaders, or graders.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocols while on construction sites.
- Provide mechanical knowledge for basic maintenance and troubleshooting of the dump truck.
- Participate in horizontal drilling operations when required.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is required.
- Proven experience operating dump trucks; additional experience with water trucks is a plus.
- Familiarity with construction site operations and safety practices.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery including bulldozers, loaders, graders, and tankers.
- Strong mechanical knowledge for performing basic maintenance tasks on vehicles.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety.
